| The past 2 months have been tremendously insane at work for me. So, once again on a Friday night I find myself working late. I'm actually pretty burnt out and it's been getting to me more tonight. I left work to go for a dinner break (yes, occasional they do let me come out of my cave to eat). Except, I never made it to get food; instead, I decided to distress and go somewhere I know would make me happy….ToysRus!!!! I was enjoying every moment going through the aisles looking at toys. If you have not done so, you should try it from once in a while. After I got my quick fix, I walked pass Ethan Allen located at their Tustin, CA branch. I’ve been to one before and I just love their stuff! I had no intentions of buying furniture at all, but walking through the store just looking and trying out different furniture, I found myself just really appreciate their quality, craftsmanship, and style more. I finally found a sitting chair that I fell in love with…and without much thought…..SOLD! I have not been spontaneous for a long time, I guess my time was up, and tonight was the night! I’m very happy about the purchase and plan to surprise my mom with her new gift. | | |

| I had the opportunity to meet up with George, not having seen him for 2 years now since MA. We started the day going to God's house. Afterwards, we had Dim Sum with my sister and brother-in-law in Diamond Plaza. I've been sick of Dim Sum for a while, only because I've had it from this Chinese restaurant-888 in San Gabriel for the past few yrs. It was nice to get a new taste, they had more selections and it was quite good. We all ate like kings and queens, to top it off..we had a mountain of shaved ice with 8 toppings...oh yum! So we ate like royalty for that hour, and we finished it off with resting like royalty. I suggested we goto Ethan Allen to check out their furnitures. It was pretty fun, we went in there testing out every single furniture and eventually found a few favorites where we grew very attached to. It was just so tempting to stay there the rest of the day and nap. I have to say, their products are very high end and I can see why; I love their patterns, designs, and color schemes. It's a bit pricey, but some of the items I think are very well worth the money.
We recently just purchased one, had one heck of a time moving it into our family room. I called an old buddy of mine from high school, and we lifted the whole entire sofa above our heads, as we went passed the fence on the side of the house to the backyard. That evening, I tested the sofa out..sat there a few minutes, and was dead asleep. I realize that I have not taken advantage of sleep for the longest time, maybe a few yrs now. I can appreciate sleep more these days and look forward to doing more of it..wish I can nap now already!
This coming Sat....gonna go see David Crowder Band, Kutless, and Hawk Nelson perform live at the 2006 Harvest Crusade event with speaker Greg Laurie at Angel Stadium. Very much looking forward to that!
| Last week, I took my parents to Rose Hills to purchase a couple plots for them, as they are making plans for the future where they would like to be laid to rest. I remember my parents bringing up this topic a few yrs back, and I just hated the subject. But, I know it was in the back of their minds. The transaction went very smoothly and my parents feel a great sense of peace knowing that their future planning is complete and taken cared of. The more I fight thinking about the subject, the more my heart swells up in pain realizing that it will happen one day.
Last Friday, as I was leaving work, I was on the phone talking to my father while driving and I told him that I loved him. I started getting teary eyed when my dad told me in the seldom time he does that he loves me so much and that he's very proud of me. Telling my dad that I love him so much just brought us that much closer. It didn't feel as weird as I expected, but natural. I realize it was something much ignored and lacked in our relationship all these years.
I got 2 tickets from a coworker to see the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. the Los Angeles Angeles of Anaheim (the politics behind the naming of a baseball team) on Saturday at Dodger's Stadium in LA. This will be probably my 2nd outing with my father in a very long time. I'm not that much into baseball, but an outing with my dad...I'll take that anytime.
If you are having a tough time dealing with your parents, maybe a simple "I Love You" will relight that bond again.
